Liam wants to run everywhere! Around and around the chair in the living room, the front porch, in the fabric store, the Container store, the book store... and when I pick him up to try to keep him around while I try to look at something - he screams and cries. If he could talk, I'm sure he'd tell me how boring it is to go shopping with me, and what fun is there in standing still with me when there is so much to explore and pull of the shelves?
So I did the only thing I could do - leave the stores. That and let him know I understood, and yes it is fun and exciting but we cannot touch everything.
Unfortunately there were a few things I had to get from Whole Foods (aka, the most baby unfriendly store I have ever been in). Halfway done and L decided he had to get out of the cart and onto the floor to check out the rows of vitamins. I couldn't let him and he cried! I hugged him but it didn't help. I sympathized, no luck. Finally I tore the lid off of the container of fresh cut-up melon and threw some watermelon in his mouth. Success! I flew through the rest and got into line, all the time keeping his mouth filled with various melon pieces. At last we got out into the parking-lot, groceries loaded up and I am throwing my purse in the front seat. I turn around and L (still in the cart) is rolling away. (Windy day). I catch him, and just start laughing. Then I realize I forgot the item I decided to stop at a grocery store for in the first place. We went back in, got our stuff, plus a couple of special chocolate bars for my sanity.
I admit, I brought it all on myself, trying to do anything when L hadn't had his nap yet. It was a long day already, an it was way to much to ask him to hold it together. Lesson learned.
It got up to 80 degrees today. Hello Spring!
I'm off to bed, I am feeling exhausted after today. You'd think it could have only gotten better but L took a face first fall onto the kitchen floor after we got home. He cut his lip a touch w/ a tooth, his lip is swollen and marked. He also had a very small amount of blood come from one nostril. This is our first really scary fall. He was easily calmed, but it scared me.
