We have had a really mixed week. Liam has had enormous amounts of fun visiting with his Grandma and Grandpa. What a blast it has been for him to get so much one on one playtime. We had a good time at the Zoo and Liam especially liked the goats this time, even petting two at once. It was noted that he seemed a little possessive, as each time someone would pet a goat, he would run over to pet the same. He also got down to throw his arm around one, to give it a hug.
On the poorer side, Liam seemed to have croup this past weekend/week. He was in good spirits the entire time and you wouldn't know he was sick until night, when he tried to lay down and could only cough. In trying to make him more comfortable we had the vaporizer running at night. This coupled with a previous week of rain caused something weird to happen and Liam and I started getting bit in our sleep each night. After thorough vacuuming, washing bedding, administering flea treatments to the cats, and shutting the windows at night, I can happily say we are on morning three of waking up with no bites. Lastly, after a season of not running the air conditioning, the line to the pump to pump A/C condensation kinked up and had to be cleared w/ an air compressor. Fortunately my knowledgeable dad was here to steer us in the right direction instead of just paying the guy to come out and doing what we could do ourselves, or more accurately, Marc doing what he could do himself :)
I had a fantastic birthday yesterday, spending the day with Marc & Liam, eating good things and having fun in Forest Park. Liam is a natural on his new tricycle, which we get to push him around on. It appears pedaling comes around the 3 year mark, so I have some time to look forward to that.
Liam is busting out new words here and there and is communicating even more. It doesn't always make a lot of sense, but we're patient. I especially like last night's conversation between he and Marc, about all the places he was not going to be sleeping. Not much later he fell asleep in my arms.
