We've been having a rough week, and it is only Tuesday. I think I've gotten bit and Liam too, but I'm not sure if this happened at night or during the day. We've gotten outside a bit both days this week. We really don't want to have to spray, but it may come down to that.

We had a great dinner yesterday, Lebanese Lentil-And-Rice Pilaf With Blackened Onions, which is one of my favorite recipes and baked sweet potatoes. Liam wanted nothing to do with either of them. He didn't even want to taste them, which is unlike him. What he did want was a popsicle* from the freezer.

He did do much better tonight, which I knew he would because I picked one of his favorites. We had macaroni & cheese. I also browned up some hamburger, onion & garlic. I served is separately, so technically it was NOT Hamburger Casserole.

I'm saying that with a smile.

So Liam ate great and then wanted frozen carrots after and got them. He is also really into crushed ice right now, which is more water intake than he usually gets, so I'm counting it as a positive.

Liam caught me snacking on pumpkin seeds and just had to try them. He loves them, so I picked up a package of unsalted ones. I really think these are too small to worry about him choking on.

Bedtime has been more of a challenge this week. He's having a hard time wanting to "go to bed". Once he's there and we are done with the drama, he falls asleep pretty easily, it is just the keeping him in bed part. Pooh Bear has been joining us for our nightly story and that is pretty cute. Liam gets him situated just right, partially under the covers. Sometimes he pats his head and sometimes Pooh needs to nurse.

The cats are driving me crazy. Those poor poor creatures. Anytime I get Liam down for a nap or to bed for the night, here is Tevye screeching and yowling - for food, for treats, to be pet. Golde is right there, waiting for me to sit down so she can sit in my lap. They both like to walk very slowly in front of the computer monitor, especially if I am typing. They've been switched to a new food recently which appears to have crack in it. I used to feed them their wet food around 4:00 - 5:00 pm and that is when Tevye would start begging. Now he begs at 12:30 pm. If I feed them, they'll beg again for another dinner around the normal time, so instead I just have two cats begging to be fed all afternoon (well, not _all_, I'm feeding them at 2:30 pm now).

When we first brought Tevye home he'd ask for breakfast like this - he would curl up on your pillow in bed, right next to your face and just purr. It was so sweet, and so gentle.

Now he just yowls. While Liam is sleeping. There is no joy in this :(

Howling cats, prowling cats, wake me with their yowling cats!

* My version of a popsicle is half water and half peach juice. No dyes, no preservatives. Sugar is naturally occurring and in apple and grape juice. These are in fact, Liam's first popsicle.
