I feel like Mother's Day came early for me this year. We went to the "local" (18 miles) farmer's market Saturday and it was the best farmer's market either of us have been to. We met a lot of great people, and L got to check out goats, chickens and a donkey. I brought home some tomato plants, a parsley plant, a dozen eggs, some goat's milk and a really good feeling about a CSA share for this year.

I've been wanting to eat more locally and now I'm starting to feel it's going to be a lot more possible, without driving 50 miles each way to do it.

Today we woke up to no power and a lot of blowing wind. We got up and headed out for breakfast, no easy feat as that was what everyone else had in mind too. We grabbed a couple of things we needed, including a new helmet for L, for biking and his "messing around" on the skateboard.

We came home to power, heat and took a nice long nap, needed by us all. We all hung out in the kitchen while I made dinner, spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and salad, better than any restaurant (if I do say so myself).

Some beautiful photos added to May

Beautiful picture. Lilah saw it and said "aww, Liam's getting milk". Of course then she pointed at me and said "my milk!"
