29 Weeks:

Projects this week included Turtles:

These were made with egg cartons, which were such a hit that the next day L created his own project. He cut off the taller cone sections from the egg carton, painted them inside with red and outside with black and presto, volcanoes.

I'm pretty sure he's used his scissors more than any other toy or tool in the house.

Yesterday I made homemade noodles to serve with my crockpot pot roast:

This was the first time I made noodles that were not going into Turkey or Chicken and Noodles. They were really good and well worth the time they took, which wasn't really that much. I'm still not sure how L liked them. He didn't eat many, but wasn't too hungry for dinner. While I was making them I told him how we were not going to the store for butter noodles because I was making them myself and they'd taste so much better. He informed me he was "going to go crazy, drive the car to the store, go insane and then buy noodles".

We've been making muffins a lot lately. A couple of weeks ago I made these:

These are crazy sugar and butter filled blueberry muffins from The Best Recipe. They didn't even taste like muffins, more like blueberry cupcakes. They were delicious. I'd call these weekend muffins.

These I have made twice now:

Healthy Banana Bran Flax Muffins from the Vegetarian Times. They're pretty good too, and far more appropriate for weekdays.

L surprised me last week when I made the Banana muffins by telling me he liked them a lot more than the blueberry muffins. I guess butter and sugar cannot over power texture. He likes frozen and fresh blueberries, but cooked within something... not so much.

We were lucky today to have temperatures in the 60's and spent a couple of hours at the playground. This time around there were a couple of playground items I could no longer fit in/on. We were planning on doing the same tomorrow, but I just noticed we're expecting rain and thunderstorms along with the warmth.

I'm feeling good, drinking lots and lots of water trying to stay hydrated. The baby is moving around a lot, and feeling much more "there" (larger). L finally got to feel the baby moving. He's not as impressed as we are, but who can blame him. He is still very much hoping for a girl. When he was asked if he wanted a sister or brother at the chiropractor last week he said, "I'm not caring about a little brother, I'm caring about a little sister." I talk to him a lot about how wonderful either one will be, but I think he'll just have to experience it himself.
