Almost There

Yesterday was absolute hell. We had a neighbor call the police on us because we were loading up the moving truck in the alley. The movers even moved so he could get out - but that didn't stop him from getting in my face, telling me this was *bullshit*, and that I couldn't expect to move _this_ weekend.

The load took a little of 2 hours, I cleaned and got the cats and I on the road an hour after Marc left. They had a pretty hard time for the first 2 hours, then settled down and slept.

We did our final walkthrough last night, and it appears the work is done. The builder was working on the electrical panel when we got there. He told us some interesting stuff about the drainage built-in, which explains why he didn't want to change the grade of the land. We feel much better about it, and I'm anxious for a big storm to see the results.

The land also needs _a lot_ of work - the grass needs re-seeding, and the septic field is covered with high weeds. I think I'll have to hand chop those down before I can can get a mower over them. All in good time :)

Walking into the house, I was really excited and am still happy about it - it's the right move.

Well, it'll be a busy day, and hopefully, we'll have an internet connection soon.
