Safari

Wow, cleaning 3 bathrooms takes up a bit more time than cleaning just one. I don't really mind (well, not yet). The bird-feeder is now less than half full. There are these really pretty yellow birds w/ black wings - nice to watch.

We have finally gotten our new plates, and it was an ordeal. First we went to the Assessor's office to get on the assessor's list - then to the Collector's Office to get a waiver for personal property taxes for this year. Then to the license office who sent us to the police station (to get our VIN verified (usually done during the safety check), but we didn't do as it is a new car). The sent us to the Sheriff's office, and then back to the license office. Whew - at least it's done. It turns out our driver's licenses can just be transferred (not re-taking the test), so I hope to get that done this weekend.

We burned for the first time last night - we had a tree fall in a storm so Marc cut away all the branches and we had a "bonfire". I think we should landscape in a fire-pit - I far prefer the idea of burning leaves over bagging them (and there are a lot!).

Dinner last night was pasta - I made sauce with crushed tomatoes, onion, green pepper, garlic, different herbs and salsiccia sausage - the sausage made it fantastic, and I've finally gotten over my dislike of fennel in sausage.

Every morning going out on the porch is like an "insect safari". Here is the latest visitor - looks likes a walking stick to me.
