After much scrambling we have found a Doctor who will perform the Cesarean who we really like. She has 20 years experience and even has experience delivering breech babies. Being a first timer, the risks are more than we can take to try to have this type of breech delivered vaginally. I have made peace with our decision and know in my heart that we are doing what is best for our baby.
My initial doctor also performs HBACs so I'll have another shot someday. After all of this I feel I know even more about Home Birth Vs. Hospital Birth than I did when I started out. The time and energy we've put into this "surprise" Cesarean has been enormous and I'm interested to see how it plays out - the test being, can you create a peaceful and personal birth in a medical setting - and now especially, in a surgical situation.
We're going in tomorrow and the section is scheduled for 10:00am. I or Marc will update once we are back to internet access.
