Take a case of beer & a carton of cigarettes and what do you have? Family time in Troy! At the playground, of course. Adults sitting on the playground equipment smoking, putting the cigarettes out and leaving the butts in the wood chips (not the ground a few feet away). No matter what improvements we do to the house, it seems there is always some reason why we wouldn't want to stay here. At all the other parks we go to (and that is quite a few), smoking in the prescence of kids would be unthinkable. It's not only the second hand smoke - it's the bad example.
On the good side, the weather has been fantastic and Liam got to follow around the "big" kids at the playground a bit. L is now saying "Hi", which really makes me happy. Animal sounds are fantastic but I'm looking forward to more talking. He's understanding more and more everyday. He bumped his nose the other day and looked at me with a sad look and touched his nose to let me know.
L had his first non-cooked rasins yesterday and those were a hit, enough that he had one in the mouth, one in each fist and when I dropped one he crammed both fists into his mouth to clear way to pick up the dropped rasin.
We have an appointment to finalize getting some work done in our kitchen. I probably have mentioned this, but, not surprisingly, our kitchen sink was not sealed properly so the garbage disposale is a chunk of rust, which leaks. The faucet is now also leaking. So instead of just replacing these pieces we are going to improve the whole thing with a new sink & countertops. We're also looking at reverse osmosis for the drinking water, so we are not drinking water from #7 plastics (the 5 gallon conatiners).
