December was busy. In our preparing for Christmas Liam and I listened to a lot of Christmas music and made many decorations. The weekend before our trip to Michigan we list our internet connection. Two days later we lost power. This was due to a big ice storm in the area. Many tree limbs came down and a couple of trees. It got very cold and we had to spend the night in a hotel. The next morning we cam back to find we still did not have power. It took us about two hours to pack and get on the road to Michigan.
We had a fantastic trip, and there are many pictures, which I am adding to Michigan 2007 as I can.
This time around we drove in the afternoon/night instead of the night and it worked out really well. We arrived in MI around 2:00AM, which let us get much more sleep than we usually get making the overnight trip. Liam did great with the trip too. Both going and coming back he wanted to hold hands. On the trip back we split it up and stayed the night in Illinois before we got home, to make sure we'd arrive in daylight to take care of whatever disaster we found with the house. Fortunately everything was fine. The tree that came down in the driveway was cut up for us by a kind neighbor. Our power was back and we had remembered to unplug the vaporizer before we left.
