Hello.... again.
The temperature gage tells me it's summer already. Time for sidewalk chalk & bubbles. Running through the sprinkler and reading in the hammock. I'm looking forward to lake and beach time.
We've had a relaxed first year of homeschooling, as this was the "kindy" year. Lots of play, at home and out with friends. Math is everywhere in our day to day lives so there was a lot of that too. We already read a loud, and L has been checking out Reading Eggs, Ooka Island and The Bob Books. He tends to throw himself in full force and them gets burned out faster than I'd like. He has picked up a lot with letter sounds from the first two. With the bob books, he can read them and I love seeing the effort he puts into figuring it out. I expect we'll be getting more in the series and using these next year. L dropped the training wheels recently and is really enjoying riding his bike. He's also been riding a scooter, which really helped with his balance.
My goal this summer is coming up with an outline on the calendar of things to cover. I love relaxed, but need a little more organization for myself. The Story of the World is looking really good for us. I'm excited to see what's out there for math & science ideas.
There seems to be a lot of good stuff on Pintrest, but honestly, it makes my head spin. I can spend hours pinning awesome stuff, and never go back to actually use any of it. I must be doing it wrong.
It's late, I'm failing to spellcheck and proofread. Good Night!
