I neglected to mention in my previous entry that the creepy bug I found turned out to be a beetle. I'm not going to update about the biting at this point, so as not to jinx myself.

This week we got rid of our TV. We decided we really didn't want or need it, and we have the computer if we want to watch a DVD. We (Marc) did some furniture moving last weekend and we now have the "great" room set up with the furniture, Liam's toys and the computer. The part that came out of this that I really like is Liam has been bringing so many more books to us to read. He has also been sitting me down on the couch specifically to read.

It is also nice that I can do laundry, listen to music/podcast and Liam can play, all in the same area. I think the great room is now officially the family room.

I think I've posted about these books before, and they are the current favorite. Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus and Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late. These were cute before, but now they are so much fun. One point of these books is to give you child something to say "no" to, like a pigeon begging to drive a bus. Liam loves to say "no" right now, so these are perfect.

Liam has also been playing with his animal sounds book, which has color coded buttons that match the color of a barnyard door that has an animal behind it (which, of course, makes the matching sound). He has recently got the hang of pushing the buttons so he pushes buttons and I'd talk about the color and animal. Today on a whim I gave him his tub of blocks and stacking cups and asked him to grab me something yellow. He promptly handed me a yellow cup. I asked for some more colors and got a non-match before he got interested in something else.

It is amazing watching him learn and grow. You can practically watch his brain expanding at night. This week he's using "yes" more. He doesn't say yes, but he shakes his head yes. This is really handy when trying to figure out what he's asking for to eat, and makes conversation more fun. Liam has also been working on learning how to jump this weekend. He's not quite there yet, but it sure is fun to watch him practice!
