These last few days have been big in changes in Liam. He is showing us he understands pretty much everything we are talking about. It was so nice this morning to figure out he wasn't eating the berries because they were too cold for his fingers and he wanted a spoon too eat them with.

He can say mouse, rock, hot, wet and a bunch of other things we haven't deciphered quite yet.

He had us put a couple of his Papa's socks:

That picture is the result of me asking him to smile before the picture, which is something we really don't do. How did he pick that up?

We've had people here working on the heating/cooling system this week so we haven't been out of the house much. Liam has really been enjoying coloring with crayons and paper.

Yesterday we did have an appointment with our family "doctor" (physician's assistant) to take a peek in Liam's ear and to establish him as a patient so he has someone if he needs it in the future. I had been felling a bit nervous about this meeting, but it went fantastically. She is respectful of our choices, which I didn't always feel with our previous doctor. Liam's ear is clear, which is a relief. He had gotten a bite in his ear and I heard no end of horror stories about the possibility of something crawling in there (spider). I feel better having it checked out. L has also gained another half inch and at least two pounds from when Sarah was here!

It does seem there is never a change to completely relax. Golde's ears are looking very bad and she needs to see the vet as soon as I can get her in. I am afraid it in ringworm so we are all taking extra precautions as it can be very contagious. Oddly, Tevye is perfectly fine. If this is ringworm, the extent it is affecting her ears does not speak well to her immune system, which makes me sad. I think she is under a lot of stress and has been for some time.
