L's birthday was Monday and I'm happy to report he had a fantastic day. M had the fabulous idea of making his present opening into a scavenger hunt and he had so much fun! That night he asked if he'd have another birthday and if he'd get to hunt for presents again. He loved getting his birthday cards as much as gifts, especially the one he got out of the mail that day. He carried it the whole way back, excited to open it.

We had a fun weekend as well, with a trip to the Museum of Transportation, a hayride and some live bluegrass.

Today I finally finished up the front flower bed. It was complete grass and weeds this year. I put down weed guard, dirt and mulch and planted some Mugho Pines, a few on sale perennials and 40 bulbs. Hopefully the weed guard and much will help it too be minimum care next year.

I added a bunch of nuts to our experiment, after we realized we also have a Hickory tree that is producing quite a few nuts.
